Patrick Paling

Patrick Paling started his career in 1997 at KPMG’s IT Advisory practice, where as a senior manager he built and expanded a specialised Identity & Access Management unit. With this team, he performed WebTrust audits, Assurance (IT) audits on Trustworthy Systems and certification audits.

 

Since 2013, Patrick has worked as an independent Lead Auditor, mainly performing certification audits at trust service providers based on eIDAS and the related ETSI standards, as well as specialised IT audits. In 2024, he co-founded Attestic together with Maarten de Boer, with a full focus on auditing eIDAS Trust Services, Smart Tachographs and Trustworthy Systems.

 

Patrick has conducted hundreds of audits and is a valued discussion partner for senior management at organisations under strict regulatory supervision. He is a Registered IT Auditor (RE) with NOREA, holds a post-master’s degree in IT auditing from Tias/Tilburg University, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) specialising in IT law, also from Tilburg University.
